The UN Human Rights Council has adopted a resolution against Iran over the recent developments in the country. It has called for creation of a fact-finding mission to investigate what it calls alleged human rights violations related to recent protests in Iran.

Tehran has dismissed the move as totally unacceptable, saying the Geneva-based council has once again been exploited to serve the interests of a small group of countries.

In this edition of the Spotlight, we will discuss the motives of the sponsors of the latest anti-Iran move in the U-N as well as the Western double standards in dealing with the issue of human rights.
