At the G20 summit in Bali, US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held their first ever face-to-face meeting in an attempt to reduce tensions that have strained the Washington-Beijing relations.
Tensions between Washington and Beijing have been simmering in recent months, especially over what China calls the US interference in the affairs of Taiwan, a self-ruled island Beijing claims as it own.
Both leaders have highlighted the need to manage differences and avoid conflict in their meeting.
