Palestinian resistance movements have said that armed retaliatory operations will continue unabated and will repeatedly target the Tel Aviv regime’s security apparatus, hailing the latest shooting attack in the occupied East al-Quds leading to the killing of an Israeli soldier near the Shuafat refugee camp.
“Such operations convey the message that the Palestinian nation’s uprising is going on and will not draw back. Young Palestinian combatants will not stop chasing down occupiers and settlers in order to give them proper responses for their crimes and incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound,” Hamas spokesperson Abdel-Latif al-Qanou said.
Qanou said that the wrath of al-Aqsa, which is reaching the boiling point anywhere across the West Bank and occupied al-Quds, will eventually go off in the face of the occupying regime and settlers, and will not appease unless the Zionists’ plans aimed at Judaization and partition of the al-Aqsa Mosque are dropped.
He pointed out that Palestinians residing in the cities of Jenin, Nablus, al-Khalil, Ramallah, al-Quds and elsewhere in the West Bank are all united to defend al-Aqsa Mosque, and will not back down until the sacred site is purged from the grip of the occupying regime.
Fawzi Barhoum, another spokesperson for Hamas, emphasized that the heroic operation shows that no matter how much the Israeli enemy would intensify its repressive measures, armed resistance will continue in the West Bank and occupied al-Quds.
The Hamas spokesman described the shooting attack as a natural response to Israeli crimes and atrocities against the residents of al-Quds, assaults against women and children, as well as the desecration of the Ibrahimi Mosque and al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Tariq Ezzedine, a spokesman for the Islamic Jihad resistance movement in the West Bank, also said the East al-Quds operation points to the righteous nature of the Palestinian struggle against Israel.
He went on to highlight that the operation comes at the appropriate time and place, and is in response to the crimes that the Tel Aviv regime has committed against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
Ezzedine stressed that the heroic operation dealt heavy blows to Israel’s security, military and political organs, which are trying to employ all criminal methods to eliminate the Palestinian uprising. The Israeli bodies have, however, failed in the face of resistance fighters’ recurrent retaliatory moves.
He noted that the operation conveys the important message that “our hands are tied” and the uptick in Israeli crimes will never undermine the determination of resistance fighters and will not discourage them from performing their duties.
Moreover, the Palestinian Freedom Movement stated that the incident clearly shows that resistance is in full effect, and will target the Israeli security apparatus time after time.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine also said Palestinians view nothing but resistance as the sole effective way to deter Israeli aggression and terrorism.
It underlined that the latest retaliatory operation in East al-Quds will push hundreds and even thousands of young Palestinians to the fields of confrontation with Israel.
Israeli forces have recently been conducting overnight raids and killings in the northern occupied West Bank, mainly in the cities of Jenin and Nablus, where new groups of Palestinian resistance fighters have been formed.
More than 150 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the Israeli-occupied territories since the start of the year, including 51 in the besieged Gaza Strip during Israel’s three-day onslaught in August.
