Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Sweden’s chargé d’affaires to protest an attack on the Iranian Embassy in Stockholm.
Director General of Protocol of the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish diplomat on Friday in the absence of the ambassador to convey the Islamic Republic’s strong protest with regard to the Swedish police’s failure to take the fully required security measures in accordance with the Vienna Convention.
The Swedish charge d’affaires said he would convey the protest to the government.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry also expressed its protest to Belgium on Friday over a similar attack on the Islamic Republic's Embassy in Brussels.
The Iranian ministry said Belgium is definitely responsible for ensuring the security of foreign diplomatic missions based on the Vienna Convention. Iran's Embassy in Brussels also condemned the attack.
