A delegation of the Yemeni military has held talks with representatives of the Saudi-led coalition in Jordanian capital, Amman to extend the truce between the warring parties in Yemen. Our correspondent Abdullatif Al-washali reports from the capital Sana'a.
Representatives of Yemen’s military have arrived at Sana’a International airport after holding another round of talks with the Saudi-led forces in Amman.
The head of the delegation, General Yahia al-Rezami says they told the other party that extending the truce without releasing the suspended salaries and lifting the siege is meaningless.
Al-Rezami slammed the United Nations for its negative stance regarding the attitude of the other party that seeks to thwart the negotiations.
Since the beginning of the UN-brokered truce in April, Jordan has been hosting several rounds of talks between the warring parties in Yemen.
So far, the negotiations have not been successful due to the Intransigence of the Saudi-led forces.
Yemenis hope that the warring sides find a common ground in the talks and reach an agreement to end the years-long war. They believe that the current talks are the last chance to put an end to the plights of the conflict-stricken nation.
