Yemeni officials criticize world bodies for lack of transparency in their humanitarian work in the conflict-stricken country. Yemen’s ministry of human rights has held a press conference in the capital Sana’a on the occasion of the world humanitarian day.

The ministry says world bodies must publicize their financial reports to prove their integrity. It says those world bodies receive billions of dollars every year from donors to save the lives of millions of Yemenis, but they’re not doing much in this regard.

Recently, the World Food Programme said the cost of the minimum food basket has increased by 74% and the prices of fuel have doubled across the country.

The organization says this will push food insecurity in Yemen to new levels.

Yemenis believe that world bodies, including the United Nations, want the war on Yemen to be prolonged so they can ask for more funds for their programs. They say that international bodies have failed to ease the humanitarian situation in their country, despite the fact that they received huge funds to aid Yemen during seven years of war and siege.
