China has reiterated its resolve to “safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity” amid tensions with US over Taiwan, saying it has capability to circle the island with fighter jets if necessary as US House speaker Pelosi heads to East Asia. Pelosi has Tweeted she will stop in Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, but made no mention of Taiwan.

Panelists Mike Billington with Asia Desk of Executive Intelligence Review from Leesburg, Virginia, and Richard Becker with ANSWER Coalition from San Francisco have joined Spotlight to discuss US-China tensions over Taiwan and look at what the U.S. strategy is, and whether Washington is after instigating another military confrontation like the one in Ukraine.
