Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation to hold high-level talks with senior Iranian officials on the most important mutual and international issues.
Kadhimi was welcomed by Iran's Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian upon his arrival at the Iranian capital on Sunday.
The Iraqi premier was officially welcomed by Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi later the same day.
Following the official welcoming ceremony, the two sides sit for talks on matters of mutual interest.
The Iranian and Iraqi officials are likely to discuss the resumption of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, among other topics, the fifth round of which was held in April.
Iran's president and the Iraqi premier will give a joint presser following their Sunday talks.
Before his Iran visit, Kadhimi had visited Saudi Arabia, where he was welcomed by Saudi Arabia's crown prince and de facto leader, Mohammed bin Salman.
