If we look at the issue from the perspective of long-term economic cycles analysis, the era of US economic power is coming to end and a new era of economic power based in Asia- particularly in China and India- is beginning because of more efficient production models that have been established there in recent years, combining centralized strategic planning with market forces and the channeling of profits into production as opposed to channeling them into the personal wealth of a few wealthy oligarchs.

In contrast, the US has shifted from a production-based economy to a financially-dominated economy characterized by extreme wealth gaps and the channeling of profits into the hands of a few oligarchs and into offshore tax havens instead of into the expansion of production and jobs.
