Inter Milan have won the Coppa Italia, after a 4-2 victory over Juventus, courtesy of an extra-time-double, from Ivan Perisic.
Inter, who are still looking for back to back championships in the Serie A, raced to a 6-minute lead, thanks to Nicolo Barella’s screamer.
Juventus responded well after the break, with 2 quick goals as Alex Sandro and Dusan Vlahovic scored 2 minutes apart, to complete the turn-around before the hour mark.
But inter restored parity with 10 minutes remaining, when Hakan Calhanoglu converted a spot kick, to force extra time. Perisic then played his role, giving Simone Inzaghi’s side a 3-2 lead, with another penalty, before making sure of a first Coppa Italia triumph, since 2011 for Inter, with a powerful finish, into the top corner.
