The Palestinian conflict is the longest running one on record for the United Nations. Multiple attempts at reaching a lasting peace have been and gone. Conveners of the Convivencia Initiative have spent years pouring over a new document that they hope will result in a lasting peace.
The vision of stepping away from violence in Palestine in the region can only work if movements for peace are supported by genuine reconciliation and justice at their heart. Now this bold new initiative being launched in London is putting true solidarity between Muslims, Christians and Jews at its foundation and hoping for global success.
The suspicions around interfaith dialogue have also been an obstacle. For too long, division has defined the ongoing crisis, but this new initiative is forging the path to a united and just solution for Palestine and the world.
