Brazil's Lula wants new currency to be freed from Dollar

Brazil's former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has launched his presidential candidacy for this October's election, calling for unity around democracy.

He has also vowed to fix the country's economy hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. In this regard, Lula has proposed creating a Latin American currency to combat the dependency on the dollar.
