NBA first-round playoffs: Celtics beat Nets 114-107, go up 2-0 in series

Over the NBA first-round playoffs, the Boston Celtics have rallied from a 17-point deficit, to beat the Brooklyn Nets 114-107, at the TD Garden, and take a 2-0 series lead. 

Boston stumbled out the gate and trailed the entire first half, but finally caught up to tie it at 79. The Nets were able to settle-in and took a 90-85 edge into the final stanza.

However, The Celtics tied it again at 92, early in the 4th quarter, and then went on a 23-4 run, before closing out the win. When beginning 2-0, they are historically 40-1 in best-of-7 series. Jaylen Brown led Boston with 22 points, and Jayson Tatum who held Kevin Durant without a basket in the second half, added another 19 for the win.

As for the Nets, Durant finished with 27 points, while Kyrie Irving offered only 10. Game 3 will be in Brooklyn on Saturday. 

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid scored a dagger three-pointer with 0.8 seconds left in overtime, to lift the 76ers to a 104-101 victory over the Toronto Raptors, putting Philadelphia on the verge of a first-round sweep, as they are holding a 3-0 lead, in their playoff series.

Also in Wednesday’s last game, DeMar DeRozan scored a playoff career-high of 41 points, to help the Chicago Bulls outscore the Milwaukee Bucks 114-110 on the road, and Even their series at 1-all.
