People of Pakistan hit the streets in the port city of Karachi to voice their outrage at the ouster of the elected government of former prime minister, Imran Khan.

The protesters say the US conspired against their country, while Imran Khan never sought sour ties with any nation during his short-lived premiership.

Former premier has accused Washington of conspiring with the Pakistani political parties and institutions to remove him from office, saying US President Joe Biden’s administration was upset about his independent foreign policy.

Khan said his life is in danger but he prioritizes Pakistan's independence over his own life. Khan says US diplomats started meeting some Pakistani officials four months ago, adding that Pakistan’s ambassador to the US was threatened.

Khan has called for a snap election, urging an investigation into what he calls the US's plot to topple his government. He has become the first Pakistani prime minister to be removed from office through a no-confidence vote by the parliament.
