Prince Charles ‘begged’ notorious pedophile for royal help

In a series of bombshell revelations being made in a new Netflix series, the handwritten correspondence between 1986-2006 shows Prince Charles asking the late Jimmy Saville for tips in repairing the reputation of the royals.

Experts argue the prince was ‘duped,’ like so many others but even without the benefit of hindsight, Charles’ association with Saville seems surprising.

These new revelations, albeit of a past association, adds to the woes of an institution already struggling with the fall-out from the Megan Markle-Prince Harry union, Prince Andrew reaching a multi-million pound settlement for allegations he had sex with an underage girl and outstanding accusations that Prince Charles’ former associate exchanged financial incentives in exchange for helping a Saudi millionaire with his British papers.

This new revelation is frankly something the royal family could well do without. At a time when the House of Windsor is scrambling to repair its image and reputation after a series of very public missteps, the association between one of the most prolific abusers in history and the heir to the throne is a serious blow.

As queen Elizabeth scales back on her public duties, Prince Charles must now try and convince an uncertain public the crown will be safe in his hands. On this evidence at least, the jury is out.
