In an all-Spanish clash of the generations, Rafael Nadal has defeated Carlos Alcaraz in a 3-set thriller to reach his 5th final at the Indian Wells Masters.
Nadal who is a 3-time champion in the California desert event, claimed a fascinating first set, when he converted a break-point in 10th game.
But Alcaraz paid Nadal with the same coin in the second set to level the contest at a set each.
Nadal raised his game just a little bit more than his fearless opponent, earning the only break-point in the decider to go up 5-4, before serving it out on his first match-point opportunity.
The Spaniard will take on American Taylor Fritz in Sunday's championship match.
