Early January Ghanaians were pleasantly surprised to see the country’s Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin dressed in traditional clothing instead of a ceremonial outfit with colonial links.

He addressed parliament on the reason for adopting Ghana’s traditional attire. This week we are focusing on a very commendable decision by the speaker of Ghana’s parliament to dump decades old colonial cloak of the speaker for traditional Ghanaian attire.

This move is seen as a step towards the revival of the country’s rich culture. In the second part of our program, we shall talk about the decision by Twitter to disable accounts of African activists opposed to United States imperialism. We are asking why are US-based social media giants intent on muzzling the voices of freedom in Africa?
