Casper Ruud has beaten home favorite and defending champion Diego Schwartzman to win this year’s Argentina Open.
With the two leveled at 5-apiece, Argentine Schwartzman broke the serve of the top seed, before serving out to take the opening set 7-5. Ruud came back from behind to take a 4-2 lead in the second set. And within minutes, he broke again to take it 6-2 and level the match. The Norwegian raced into a 4-1 lead in the decider, and despite saves by his second seeded opponent, Ruud comfortably served out his next two games to win his second Argentina Open title after two hours and 37 minutes of play.
