Afghanistan has been titled as one of the poorest and saddest countries in the world. With the situation worsening in the war-torn country, a Gallup survey has recently found that “ninety-four percent of Afghans rate their lives poor enough to be considered suffering.

The survey adds that three in four Afghans cannot afford food for their families, while six out of 10 Afghans are unable to provide adequate shelter for their families.

Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Some Afghans say it depends on the Taliban’s decisions and governance.

The Gallup survey also notes that disapproval of the American leadership has risen to a record 84 percent. Majority of the people in Afghanistan believe that the US has betrayed Afghanistan.

Decades of war on Afghanistan have made Afghans the poorest, the saddest and the most suffered people on the planet. Afghans say the situation is getting worse day by day as the economy is hit hard by the US sanctions and cuts in global aid.
