The Grizzlies took an 8-point lead after beating the hosts 35-27 in the opening quarter. The visitors took the 2nd quarter with a 4-point margin, which led to their 64-52 advantage in the 1st half. The visitors remained consistent after the break as they widened the gap to 13 points by winning the 3rd quarter with a single point.
However, the Knicks did not give up and took the final quarter 29-28, but that was as far as they could go, and the Grizzlies earned a 12 point overall victory to sit 3rd, in the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz managed to snap their losing streak after 5 consecutive defeats as they edged past the Denver Nuggets 108 to 104 at home.
The Nuggets got the upper hand in the 1st half as they finished it 61 to 60. Bu the Jazz went on fire after the break and managed to take the next 2 quarters to register their 31st victory of the season. Utah will welcome the slumping Brooklyn Nets on Friday, while Denver will entertain the New Orleans Pelicans on the same day.
