The Kremlin is displeased with the US response to its security concerns. Russia’s top diplomat says Washington has NOT addressed Moscow’s main security concerns over Ukraine joining NATO. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says it will now be up to President Vladimir Putin to decide on Russia’s next steps. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also says remarks out of the US and NATO about Russia’s main demand being unacceptable do not leave a lot of room for optimism. The US has given a formal response to Russia’s security terms to resolve the Ukraine crisis. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the response offers a diplomatic path as well as Washington’s proposals to defuse tensions.
