Chile in a nutshell

A few weeks ago, José Antonio Kast had won the first round of Chile’s presidential elections. But tables suddenly turned and candidate Gabriel Boric obtained 56 percent of the vote in the second round and the largest majority in the country’s history.

At thirty-five, Boric is now the youngest president ever. What exactly happened there? Why did Chile suddenly turn in the other direction? Or was it happening a long time ago?
