Manchester United have run away with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round as Villa had two goals ruled out.
The opener arrived as early as the 8th minute when Fred sent a dangerous ball into the area and Scott McTominay rose highest to steer his header into the far corner.
Aston Villa responded in a similar fashion through Danny Ings six minutes into the second half, but the goal was disallowed, following a VAR check.
Ollie Watkins then thought he got the equalizer for Villa, however the assistant referee rose his flag, as Ings was off-side in the build-up.
And with that the Red Devils progressed and will host championship side, Middlesbrough in the next stage.
