A huge fire at a factory containing construction materials spewed out a dense gray plume of toxic smoke over the Chilean capital city on Monday (November 29).
The fire in the municipality of Quilicura, in the north of Santiago, produced a dark pillar of smoke, prompting health officials to advise caution in the area.
The emergency also caused traffic jams and diversions in the area, which has major highways.
As a precaution, municipal authorities suspended school activities for the day.
