On the last day of his stay in the Afghan capital, Kabul, Iran’s special envoy to Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi held separate meetings with a number of Taliban officials on mutual ties.

Acting ministers of agriculture, economy, refugees' affairs, information and culture, commerce and industry, and tribal and border affairs were among the officials who held talks with the Iranian envoy. During the talks, both sides announced their readiness for the expansion of ties in different areas and discussed ways for further cooperation.

Qomi arrived in the Afghan capital on Monday at the head of a delegation for talks with the new government in neighboring Afghanistan.

Iran has called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan representing all Afghans. It has also called for an end to violence in the country.

Iran says it attaches great importance to the security and welfare of the people of Afghanistan.
