Over the latest news from the NBA, the Nets have moved up to 2nd in the Eastern conference after battling past the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-99 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The hosts were the brighter side in the opener as they opened up a 6-point advantage before hammering the Cavaliers 31-16 in the second that led to their 21-point lead at the Intermission. However, the Cavs regrouped against the run of play after the break as they cut the gap to 8 points by taking the 3rd quarter 32-19.
But, the star-studded, Nets kept up the pressure by taking the final with a 2-point margin that led to their 10-point overall victory. James Harden, Lamarcus Aldridge and Kevin Durant combined more than half of the points for Brooklyn as they collected 74 points.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s great performance by collecting 47 points, led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 109-102 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at home.
It was a neck and neck contest, but the Bucks took a 2-point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. The defending champions remained consistent in the final to widen the gap to 7 points and register their 7th victory of the season.
The Bucks will welcome the OKC on Friday, whereas the Lakers will travel to Boston to meet the Celtics on the same day.
