The Biden administration has extended the deadline on businesses to comply with vaccine mandates for near one month, in support of companies who already face labor shortage during the US Christmas holidays.
Despite extension for federal contractors, government employees must be vaccinated by November 22. Unvaccinated federal employees who have not received a medical or religious exception, will face removal.
According to a new Morning Consult-Politico poll, most Americans support President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on businesses by 55 percent, while 40 percent oppose the rule. The poll conducted from Nov 5 to Nov 7, shows democrats mostly favor President Biden’s vaccine mandate on businesses.
However, the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily halted the mandate with a nationwide stay on Saturday, challenging that the mandate will lead to staffing shortage and economic blow back.
Numerous far-right groups across the US have openly opposed to vaccine mandates. The right wing Christ Church in Idaho, led an uncompromising campaign against Covid-19 mandates in the state. The campaign emphasizes on civil disobedience and in-person protests.
This comes as Idaho health authorities are rationing hospital care for serious cases of Covid-19 infection.
Actor Mathew McConaughey, who's repeatedly floated campaign against Texas Governor, contradicted mandate on childhood vaccinations.
"I couldn't mandate having to vaccinate the younger kids. I still want to find out more information," he said on Tuesday at The New York Times's DealBook summit.
He stressed that although he has been vaccinated himself, he’s against mandating vaccination for both adults and children.

The comments from McConaughey, come as President Biden encourages vaccination for children 5 to 11 by boosting the number of Covid-19 vaccination sites for children.
Covid vaccinations for 5 to11 year olds began late last week, after The American Food and Drug Administration authorized Pfizer-BioNTech's coronavirus vaccine for emergency use in children.
According to White House officials, by the end of Wednesday, about 900 thousand school age children will have gotten their first doses of he Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine as more have appointments scheduled in the days ahead.
