Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, have formed a new military alliance called AUKUS, under the pretext of boosting security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

But is this actually beneficial for the region, or an imperialist project that could lead to a dangerous escalation with China? The trilateral agreement would see Australia acquire cruise missiles and nuclear submarines, while ramping up America’s already giant military presence in the region.
