Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi has promised to resolve problems faced by Iranian nomads, in particular water shortages, upon visiting southwestern regions of the country to talk with the nomads face-to-face.

“We are seriously pursuing the resolution of your water shortage problems, and on the other hand, we will strive to cut off the hands of middlemen and brokers in selling the nomads’ handicrafts and food products, so that the main benefits of the endeavors and efforts of nomadic women and men will be reaped by themselves,” Raeisi told the nomads on Friday.

The president made the remarks during a trip to the southwestern province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, where he met with the province’s nomads to directly talk with them, as he marked his fifth provincial visit since assuming office in August.

He also met and talked with nomadic elders to discuss their problems and requests.

“The nomads have always supported the Islamic Revolution with all their lives, property and existence, and today, their great economic motion plays an effective role in materializing the country’s economic prosperity,” he stressed.

He also called the economic activities of the nomads a good example of synergy in production.

During his visit, Raeisi was accompanied by some of his ministers, including the ministers of energy, industry and health.

The president also ordered Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad’s governor to immediately hold meetings with the nomads in order to examine and find ways to resolve their problems.

Upon arriving in the province, Raeisi said important steps would be taken to eliminate the deprivation in different areas of the province.
