Iran’s president Ebrahim Raeisi, in his first address to the UNGA, says the US efforts to impose hegemony on other countries have “failed miserably." He referred to two incidents that represented how the US is on a downward spiral.

In this edition, Spotlight interviews John Wight writer and political analyst from Edinburgh and Mostafa Khoshcheshm journalist and political commentator from Tehran, to look at what these two incidents that he was referring to are, and how Raisi’s mistrust of the US and US failure of lifting the sanctions will affect the future of the talks.
