UK Labor conference: Palestine affiliates banned as civil war rages

This year, the annual Labor Party conference is already creating negative headlines as the bitterly divided party continues to crack down on pro-Palestine and socialist factions within its ranks.

Following a heated row with Party leadership, the elected head of Labor Youth felt compelled to reveal party intentions to ban former leader Jeremy Corbyn and anyone else affiliated with pro-Palestine groups from speaking.

The dispute has caused major confusion over who else could be banned.

Many suspected that Palestine Solidarity Campaign would also be barred from attending. However, PSC has since rubbished the claims, but widespread irritation towards the leadership remains.

The controversy surrounding the conference is just the latest example of what’s been dubbed as party leader Sir Keir Starmer’s war against the members. Corbyn and his supporters are no longer welcome in the party. But while this battle rages, questions surround how Starmer can ever hope to get war-torn Labor elected.
