Israel’s persistent killings and expansionist agenda would spiral the situation out of control across the occupied territories and endanger the entire region, a Palestinian presidential spokesman has warned.
Palestinian Authority spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said in a statement on Monday that the Israeli atrocities and its settlement construction could push the situation "towards an overall explosion" across the whole region.
"Israel should learn that the situation is no longer tolerable and that its continued extrajudicial killings of Palestinians and settlement construction will lead to a conflagration with unforeseeable consequences for the whole region."
"Recognizing the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, ending the occupation and establishing the Palestinian state, with East al-Quds as its capital, in line with the UN resolutions are the only way to guarantee achieving security, peace and stability in the Middle East."
Israeli forces stormed the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank on Monday, and shot dead four Palestinians. The bodies of at least two of the victims were being held by Israeli authorities.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has called for a general strike in the wake of the shooting dead of the four young Palestinians.
