In women’s Badminton in Tokyo Olympics, Iran’s Soraya Aqaei has opened her campaign with a commanding victory over Fatima Abdul Razzaq of Maldives.
Aqaei saw off her opponent with powerful smashes and decisive backhands in just 33 minutes.
She erased a 2-point deficit at 3-1 in the first game and never looked back to secure it 21-14.
Aqaei paced it up in the second game with a 21-7 win to get her campaign off to a great start.
She played well on her serves, earning 12 points in the first game and 16 in the second.
Aqaei will next meet He Bingjiao of China in Group G.
