Iranian freestyle wrestlers have concluded their campaign at the Cadet World Championships on a gilded note picking up two more gold medals in Budapest.
Ali Khorram-del won the top prize for Iran in the 51 kilogram category after defeating Uzbek wrestler, Nodirbek Juman-azarov in the final.
The Iranians’ other gold medal came courtesy of Seyed Hassan Esmaeil Nezhad, who saw off Akhmed Abdula-evitch Musaev of Russia in the 71 kilogram finale. Iranian freestyle wrestlers had earlier grabbed a gold and a bronze medal in the 110 and 65 kilogram classes respectively.
In the overall standings Iran finished fourth behind Champions India runners-up USA and third-placed Russia. The Greco-Roman format of the championships will begin on Friday in the Hungarian capital where Iran will be looking to defend its title from 2019.
