An anti-terrorism Afghan volunteer force has dismissed media claims about its presence on the ground in conflict-torn Afghanistan as a “new Israeli-American game” serving their own “vicious goals,” calling on all Afghan groups to prioritize dialog over war to end the crisis and advance national interests now that the US occupation has come to and end.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Fatemiyoun Brigade warned that a “soft war” had begun against Afghanistan shortly after the pullout of the US military in an attempt to ignite a civil war, pitting the country’s Shia and Sunni Muslims against each other, adding that the media propaganda recently launched against the Afghan counter-terrorism force was part of the same plot.
The Fatemiyoun Brigade was formed in 2014, when the Takfiri Daesh terror group began a campaign of terror and destruction in Syria and later Iraq. The resistance group, made up of mainly Shia Afghan volunteer forces, has been effectively assisting the Syrian government in its battle against Daesh and other terrorist outfits.
“The news about the presence of Fatemiyoun fighters in Afghanistan or media attempts to make such a thing happen in the current circumstances is a new American-Israeli game aimed at achieving the vicious goals of the global arrogance. As repeatedly stated, Fatemiyoun currently needs no such media hype,” the statement said.
Also on Monday, an Afghan politician reacted to and dismissed a report by Iran’s Jomhouri-e Eslami newspaper about the formation of a “Shia mobilization force” in Afghanistan, which has been the scene of fierce clashes between the army and the local Taliban militant group recently.
Fatemiyoun said war is definitely not the solution to the conflict, and peace can be established through direct intra-Afghan dialog, without the presence of any foreign parties.
“With the expulsion of American forces from the region and Afghanistan, a more beautiful world can be built by preserving religious values and human dignity, provided that all groups, tribes and politicians prioritize dialog over civil war, give up certain tribal interests and insist on the interests of the Afghan people instead in order to reach a prosperous and proud Afghanistan,” the Brigade said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The US defeat in Afghanistan and the shameful departure of the global arrogance and its Western backers from the country have certainly brought joy to the hearts of all Muslims, in particular the Muslim people of Afghanistan. This heavy defeat is the result of the internal and external resistance of all the Muslim people of Afghanistan. Therefore, the end of the occupation of Afghanistan will be a national and popular celebration,” it added.
The group noted that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan will be definitely accompanied by acts of hypocrisy and deception with the aim of fomenting disorder and instability in Afghanistan.
According to the Fatemiyoun Brigade, the US withdrawal is aimed at pushing the country toward civil war and insecurity in order to champion the American troops as heroes and threaten other nations to stop their efforts to expel US forces from their countries.
The US also wants to push Shia and Sunni Muslims of Afghanistan toward a sectarian war and will not spare any effort to reach that goal, it added.
Fatemiyoun hails Ayatollah Khamenei as ‘great sage’
Fatemiyoun said it will remain committed to the orders and guidance issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, among other prominent figures and thinkers in the Muslim world, for regarding him as most sensitive to and familiar with the Muslims' capacities, opportunities, sufferings and problems as well as solutions to their problems in the region and across the world.
“Undoubtedly, the commanders, senior officials and zealous, brave and patient warriors of the Fatemiyoun have always listened to the command of this great sage and will move on the path created by him,” the Fatemiyoun Brigade said.
In a message released on July 17, 2021, on the occasion of the start of the Hajj rituals, Ayatollah Khamenei described the US withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan as disgraceful, warning the “vigilant Afghan nation” to remain watchful of the United States’ “tools for gathering intelligence and its soft-war weapons” against their country.
