Farmers, traders and exporters of agricultural crops held a demonstration in front of the United Nations headquarter in Gaza, to deliver the representative of the United Nations a protest letter against new restrictions imposed by Israel to export Palestinian agricultural crops.

Israeli closure of borders has led to a huge damage in the agricultural sector of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian farmers are facing serious financial losses due to the Israeli closure of borders. This is viewed in Gaza as part of a larger plan by Israel to destroy the Palestinian economy. Palestinian farmers called on the international community to be committed to its responsibilities and pressurize Israel into opening the borders.

Along with the Israeli ban on export, the latest aggression on the Gaza Strip has doubled the damage in agricultural sector. This has led to severe losses in this sector as Palestinian farmers can barely afford their living.
