Under financial pressure, the leader of the Proud Boys is reportedly printing Black Lives Matter T-shirts to make money.
But the financial situation is not only tough for Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio; the Oath Keepers founder has also been accused of “splintering after board members accused the founder of spending its money on hair dye, steaks and guns, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
The Oath Keepers and Proud Boys are accused of plotting in advance to turn the disputed 2020 US presidential election by impeding the election certification through storming the Capitol on Jan. 6.
“Leaders are low on cash, struggling with defections and arguing with members over the future,” read the report.
Many associates of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers have been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to capture the Capitol.
On that day, former President Donald Trump took to a stage near the White House and ordered his loyalists, who had gathered there from all across the country, to “fight” – using the word more than 20 times.
Trump told the crowd that “everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol.” About 50 minutes into the speech, many of them did.
