French Open: Federer tops Istomin in straight sets

Roger Federer has started his French Open campaign with a victory, after demolishing Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan 3 sets to love.

The Swiss maestro, who just played four matches in 2021 after a long term injury, did not waste any time as he easily took the opener 6-2.

The 39-year-old veteran shook off the rust in style and kept his composure in the next two sets as well, taking them 6-4 and 6-3 respectively.

The 20-time grand slam champion will next take on Marin Cilic of Croatia, who beat his French opponent in straight sets.
