Iran's presidential election is slated for June 18.
Seven candidates- who have got the green light from the Guardian Council- are now running in the race for the next president.
Of them, incumbent Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raeisi the odd-on favorite. Yet all the other candidates namely Mohsen Rezaei, Saeed Jalili, Alireza Zakani, Seyyed Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh-Hashemi, Abdolnaser Hemmati, and Mohsen Mehr-Alizadeh stand just as much chance.
The seven candidates can now start campaigning until June 16, two days before the election. This allows for a one-day period when campaigning is banned.
