The Metropolitan Police has launched a formal investigation into a police officer who appears to be sympathizing with marchers at a protest rally against Israel’s War on Gaza.
The unidentified female officer is seen hugging one of the pro-Palestine protesters before chanting “free, free Palestine!” to loud cheers from the crowd.
The Metropolitan Police has tweeted that its “Directorate of Professional Standards” has launched an investigations as serving police officers can neither “actively participate” in demonstrations nor “adopt political positions”.
While officers are encouraged to positively engage with those attending demonstrations, they know they are not to actively participate or adopt political positions.

For their part, pro-Israeli British journalists have tried their utmost to cause trouble for the unidentified female Met Police officer.

The controversy surrounding an apparently pro-Palestinian police officer comes against the backdrop of rising tensions in the UK between the Muslim community and the supporters of Israel.
On Sunday (May 16), four men were arrested for allegedly blasting “anti-Semitic” slurs from their car in the predominantly Jewish area of St. John’s Wood in north London.
