Two students and a custodian were shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries on Thursday at a middle school in eastern Idaho, and a student was being held as a suspect, local media reported.
The shootings happened between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. local time at Rigby Middle School in Rigby, Idaho, a remote community about 270 miles (435 km) east of Boise, East Idaho News reported, citing Jefferson County Sheriff Steve Anderson.
The three wounded people were in stable condition and their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, East Idaho News reported. A male student was taken into custody, the news website said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to a request for information about the incident.
Idaho Governor Brad Little issued a brief statement shortly after the incident.
"Thank you to our law enforcement agencies and school leaders for their efforts in responding to the incident," Little said on Twitter. "I am staying updated on the situation."
East Idaho News video showed several parents coming to pick up students from the school.
