Manchester United have taken a huge step towards the Europa League final with a 6-2 thrashing of AS Roma in their semi-final first leg at Old Trafford.
Man United took a ninth-minute lead through Bruno Fernandes who expertly chipped past Roma keeper but the Italians pulled level six minutes later with a Lorenzo Pellegrini penalty and Edin Dzeko gave them a 2-1 lead in the 33rd minute.
The Red Devils came out firing after the break and Edinson Cavani restored parity with a tremendous first time shot after 3 minutes. The Uruguayan striker added his second on a rebound before Fernandes made it 4-2 from the penalty spot.
Paul Pogba headed home the fifth before Mason Greenwood goal completed an impressive turnaround for the Premier League side. Man U who are likely to reach the final, will face the winners of the other semi-final between Villarreal and Arsenal. The Spanish side won Thursday's first leg 2-1 in Spain.
