Monte Carlo Masters: Tsitsipas defeats Karatsev in straight sets

To tennis news, Stefanos Tsitsipas have made a winning start to the Monte Carlo Masters after cruising past Aslan Karatsev of Russia in straight sets.

The world number 5 got the upper hand after taking the opening set 6-3. The Greek youngster then continued his flawless performance in the next set and took it 6-4 to wrap up the contest in 85 minutes.

Tsitsipas awaits the winner of Australian John Millman and Cristian Garin of Chile for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Garin needed 2 hours to stun Felix Auger Aliassime of Canada 2 sets to Love in a 1st-round clash. It was a neck and ncek contest in the opener, but the Chilean managed to take it in the tie-break. Garin piled the pressure and easily won the 2nd set, 6-1.
