Officials for one of the biggest hospitals in Sana'a say the facility is on the brink of closure due to the severe fuel crisis. This is while the Saudi-led coalition is still holding 14 Yemeni oil ships since the beginning of 2021.
The Ministry of Health said the fuel shortage has already forced many health facilities to shut down some of their sections and stop providing health services partially and they may stop completely if the fuel crisis continues.
An all-out blockade has been imposed by Riyadh since March 2015 when the Saudi-led coalition launched its deadly war campaign on Yemen. The United Nations described the situation in the war-torn country as the world's worst humanitarian crisis, but failed to take real action to make any difference.
It is a matter of days until thousands of patients become deprived of benefiting from the health services of this hospital unless the international community steps in and pressures Saudi Arabia to release the illegally detained oil tankers.
