Buckingham Palace issues terse statement following Harry and Meghan interview

This latest scandal may prove to be the most damaging in Queen Elizabeth II's nearly 70-year reign

Following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with US talk show host, Oprah Winfrey, Buckingham Palace has issued a very short and essentially empty statement.

As predicted by Press TV, Buckingham Palace has refused to address Harry and Meghan Markle’s incendiary revelations and instead described their detailed complaints – including specific allegations of racism – as “concerning”.

The palace also states that the serious allegations raised in the interview will be “privately” addressed by the royal family.

Beyond the allegations of racism, the former Prince Harry and Markle had complained of an aloof royal institution that has been determined to make life difficult for them ever since they renounced their royal tiles and duties in early 2020.

The bombshell interview – aired on the US network CBS on Sunday (March 07) – has been universally described as a crisis point for the royal family if not for the UK as a whole.

Absent detailed public responses to the former royal couple’s allegations, Buckingham Palace – and specifically the Queen - risks aggravating the current crisis.
