Rafael Nadal has had a good start at the Australian Open after beating Laslo Djere of Serbia in straight sets.

The world's number two, who returned from injury, did not play too aggressively and won the opener 6-3. His opponent played well in the next set but did not have the weapons to win as Nadal took it 6-4 with his solid performance. The Spaniard then re-grouped and won the 3rd set easily at 6-1.

Nadal, who is seeking a record breaking 21st Grand Slam, will next meet the winner of the match between Michael Mmoh and Viktor Troicki.
