Italy has decided to stop arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in an effort to help restore peace in Yemen and protect human rights.
The decision cancels deals to sell 12,700 missiles to Saudi Arabia and billions of dollars’ worth of other weapons to the UAE.
The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights praised the decision, and described it as positive but late, calling on the rest of the countries supporting the Saudi-led coalition to stop supplying weapons.
Yemenis hope that the rest of the countries doing arms business with Saudi Arabia stop their support for the Saudi-led coalition.
