Bayer Leverkusen have returned to winning ways in the German Bundesliga, after earning a 2-1 crucial victory over Borussia Dortmund at home.
The hosts got on the scoresheet after 14 minutes of play, when Moussa Diaby netted with a clinical finish, after controlling a long pass from Leon Bailey. But, Dortmund upped their game after the break and managed to level the match as Julian Brandt scored with a curling effort from the edge of the box in the 67th minute.
However, Leverkusen regained the lead with a counter-attack that Kevin Wirtz completed in the last 10 minutes. With the result, Leverkusen are now 2nd in the table, 4 points behind League leaders Bayern Munich, while the loss is a big blow to Dortmund's title hopes, who are 4th in the table.
