Apart from the COVID-19 pandemic, other events that made headlines in Africa include protests against police brutality in Nigeria, the military coup in Mali, the US forcing some African countries to establish ties with the Israeli regime and the crisis in Ethiopia.

We shall start of our program with the COVID-19 pandemic. As the year ended, there were over 2.5 million confirmed COVID-19 cases on the African continent- with more than 2.1 million recoveries and 60,000 deaths cumulatively.
