Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission says insecurity has increased across Afghanistan. The report blames Taliban militants for the majority of attacks and bombings.

Bomb explosions and terrorists attacks in Afghanistan have been on the rise over the past few weeks. This comes despite the ongoing peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban militants.

Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission says scores of civilians including women and children were killed or wounded in the last three days in separate security incidents across the country.

This comes as experts believe, the recent military achievements of Afghan forces mainly the defeat of Taliban in the strategic battle for Helmand in southern Afghanistan is one of the motives behind the rise in bombings and assassinations.

The intra-Afghan talks kicked off in the Qatari capital on September 12th but they appear to have been stalled as the two sides have not reached a basic framework for negotiations.

In the meantime, the report holds both Afghan armed troops and US forces accountable for civilian deaths. This comes as they have always stressed protecting civilians as a high priority during their military operations saying, terrorist groups use civilians as human shields during battles.
